Called the “Sexiest Astrophysicist Alive”, by People Magazine, Neil deGrasse Tyson is currently the Director of the Hayden Planetarium and a research associate in the department of astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History. From 2006 to 2011 he hosted the educational science television show NOVA ScienceNow on PBS and has been a frequent guest on The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Real Time with Bill Maher, and Jeopardy!. He has had an asteroid named for him, was called “one of the 100 most influential people in the world” by Time Magazine, and selected as one of the "50 Best Brains in Science" by Discover Magazine. He has also appeared in Superman Comics and in an episode of The Big Bang Theory. He was one of the scientists involved in removing Pluto’s status as a planet, and has said he may be the only astrophysicist ever to get “hate mail in crayon from kids for killing Pluto.”
